Policies and FAQ
HOW DO I RESERVE A PARTY DATE?
Parties are booked on a first come, first serve basis. When a party date and time has been confirmed, a $100.00 deposit will be necessary to secure your reservation. The deposit is non-refundable and must be received within 7 days of booking your party date and time. If we do not receive the deposit by the 7th day, we will assume you are cancelling the reservation and the date will no longer be held for you. We suggest booking parties at least 4 weeks in advance if possible.
The balance due on the party will collected the day of the party, cash or check is acceptable.
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
At this time we accept checks, money orders and cash. There will be a charge of $25.00 for a returned check.
WHERE ARE THE PARTIES HELD?
The parties are held at your home or chosen location.
WHERE IS LAVENDER AND LACE TEA SOCIALS LOCATED?
LAVENDER AND LACE TEA SOCIALS L.L.C. is located in Fallston, Harford County, Maryland. We will travel within a 30 mile radius from Fallston, Maryland, at the rates quoted in the WebPages. If the mileage is exceeded, there will be an additional charge.
WHAT TIME CAN I HAVE MY PARTY?
We will work to accommodate your schedule.
WHAT AGES ARE YOUR PARTIES FOR?
Our parties are for children and adults ages 4 and up.
HOW LONG ARE THE PARTIES?
The length of your party depends on the party package you choose and the age of the children. The parties run approximately 2 hours. Your party hostess will arrive approximately 60-90 minutes prior to the party time.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY PARTY?
Once a deposit has been paid, parties can only be postponed. Parties cannot be postponed less than 72 hours prior to the party date, with a refund. We will work with you to find an alternate party date for your consideration, based on availability. If you choose to cancel our services for ANY reason, your deposit is non-refundable.
**Should it be necessary to re-send invitations, there will be an additional charge.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS INCLEMENT WEATHER OR THERE IS AN ILLNESS?
In the case of severe weather LAVENDER AND LACE TEA SOCIALS L.L.C. reserves the right to RESCHEDULE your party. If YOU choose to cancel your party and/or the services of LAVENDER AND LACE TEA SOCIALS L.L.C. at that time, please remember, your deposit is non-refundable.
If the guest of honor becomes ill, we will gladly work with you to choose an alternate date for your party, based on availability.

DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM / MAXIMUM ATTENDANCE?
Parties rates are based on 6 guests. If less than 6 attend your party, you will still be charged for 6 guests. Maximum attendance for most parties is 10 for children including the guest of honor. Depending on the party theme you choose, we can accommodate up to 12 children and for the adult parties, we can accommodate as many as 20. If you want to schedule a larger group for adults, we will set up an appointment to discuss the specifics.
Parties with more than 6 guests will require an additional party hostess for the safety and supervision of the guests. There will be an minimum additional fee of $35.00 for each additional hostess.
ARE INVITATIONS INCLUDED?
Custom invitations are included. They are personalized and theme coordinated. You supply us with the guest list, and we send out the invitations. Invitations CANNOT be printed until your deposit has been received. Invitations will not be mailed to you to mail. Invitation list should be mailed with your deposit. Invitations are based on 8 invites, if more are needed, there will be an additional charge.
WHAT SHOULD THE CHILDREN WEAR?
Fairy & Princess Theme: All costumes are designed to be worn over the child’s own clothes. The children do not get undressed. We do suggest that the girls wear a leotard, or bathing suit. Please contact us for more specific information. The adult hostess ( mom of party girl) of the party will help dress the children.
WILL THERE BE MAKE-UP?
All children will be given the opportunity to be treated to a make-up session (depends on age of children and party package). We use Avon or Mary K products (hypo-allergenic). If a parent would prefer their child not wear makeup, it is up to you to pass that information on to us.
WHEN DO YOU NEED THE FINAL R.S.V.P. COUNT?
You will need to contact me at least 7 days prior to your party to determine the exact headcount for your event. This will be the number we use to plan appropriate quantities of food, favors, and the advance cost of preparing for your party. You will be charged accordingly.
IF A CHILD DOES NOT SHOW UP, DO I STILL PAY FOR THAT CHILD?
Please remember, you will be charged for the final headcount you gave prior to the party, regardless of a child not showing.
WHAT HAPPENS IF A GUEST HAS FOOD ALLERGIES?
It will be your responsibility to check for food allergies. Should any of your guests have food allergies, we will try our best to accommodate them.
DO ADULTS STAY DURING THE PARTY?
Parents and other adults are always welcome to stay and enjoy the fantasy. Because we strive to make the guests the center of attention, we kindly request your assistance in keeping the noise level down so the guests are not distracted, and are able to hear the Party Hostess to follow directions. We also would like for you to have a special place for the adults to gather which won’t interfere with the children during the craft time, and during the actual tea. Use of video cameras will only be allowed by the party host.
CAN SIBLINGS OF THE GUESTS STAY?
We will have many accessories that contain small parts at many of our parties and they may not be appropriate for very small children. Please remember that our party packages cover ONLY the host child and their guests. Unfortunately, we will NOT be able to accommodate unexpected guests or siblings of guests, as we prepare our parties based on the final headcount given to us prior to the party.
WHAT HAPPENS IF GUESTS ARRIVE LATE (or Early)?
Because our parties are based on a schedule, they work best when all guests arrive on time. Those guests coming late may join the party at that point.
FOR EXAMPLE: The group has already completed the make-up session and has moved on to the crafts. In that case the late arriving guest must skip the make-up and join in the craft.
If guests arrive more than 15 minutes early, it will be your responsibility to keep them occupied until the party begins.
This is necessary in order to provide the least amount of disruption to the party, and your understanding is appreciated.
MAY BOYS ATTEND?
We welcome boys at most parties. In the near future there will be themed parties strictly for boys.
CRAFT ACTIVITIES & GAMES:
The craft(s) and/or game(s) chosen for your party will be related to the theme. Activities will be age-appropriate and fit within the time frame of the party. The crafts and games are subject to change.
WHO TAKES CARE OF A GUEST IF THEY BECOME ILL, ARE A BEHAVIOR PROBLEM, OR DO NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE?
They will need to be attended to by you or your helper. We are not responsible for the behavior of the children. The Party Hostess is responsible for hosting your party and engaging the children in a constant activity. Good behavior is always promoted, but it's your responsibility to monitor and take charge if a child is not behaving, becomes ill, or does not wish to participate.
IF THE WEATHER IS NICE, CAN I HAVE MY PARTY OUTDOORS?
Yes, BUT the party must take place on a patio, deck or driveway, no-grass or dirt areas. Some great places for outdoors are garages, patios and decks. The children WILL NOT be permitted on grassy or dirt areas while in dress-up clothes.
Some things to consider about having your party outside:
· Have a back up plan and space indoors in the event of bad weather or a very hot/cold day.
· Remember that children will not want to put on dress-up clothes if it’s very hot outside, food melts and beverages will not stay cold.
· SUN BLOCK!! We are NOT responsible for applying sun block and making sure children do not get sunburned
YOUR OBLIGATION
· Provide a safe, seperate and clean areas for dress-up, activities, and eating.
· Remain with the party at all times
· Supply table(s) and chairs & provide the table dimensions
· Provide a gathering place for parents of the guests who wish to stay
· Provide a smoke-free environment
PARKING: Please leave us some space to park in your driveway or in front of your home where we will not be blocked. We would appreciate easy access as we have a lot of heavy items to carry into the party.
ADDITIONAL POLICIES
LAVENDER AND LACE TEA SOCIALS L.L.C. and its employees assume no responsibility or liability for accidents or damages. Your Party Hostess will provide you with the most professional of services and will work to ensure that your home is treated with respect.
In the event of damage or loss of LAVENDER AND LACE TEA SOCIALS L.L.C. inventory and/or damage or loss to the party’s location, the financial responsibility lies entirely on the client.
LAVENDER AND LACE TEA SOCIALS L.L.C. or its employees are not responsible for allergic reactions or any other medical reaction stemming from the menu, wearing of costumes, makeup or any activity taken place before, during and/or after the party. In the case of liability and/or financial remuneration due to the aforementioned, the responsibility lies strictly with the customer.
